New Base for the Boatoperation

Over the last year I have completed to build a new Marina ,Jetty in an ideal location just 200 m towards the entrance of the creek on the opposite side.
The access to the boat has become very easy with the completion of the road to the beach.
My trial run last night ended up in 2 hours work(stuck in the sand on the beach).
We now have wheel chair access right to the boat not a single step.
For the workshops and Fishing stores, we are still digging off the soil and rock ,but should start to construct within 2 month.
Operations will move to the new location by the 1 st August. It will help the guests residing in our base to enjoy a noise free and relaxing stay, without the daily running of the boats and maintenance around.

New Engines for the boats

Over the last 2 years ,I have looked for a suitable option to replace my ancient but still running perfectly fine Ford Sabre engines. That little bit of blue smoke when cold and all the little swets on the seals, made it look messy and the bilge crying.

Over the last 3 month I have buildt the Marine engine ideal for Kenya /Africa,using the base engine of a Nissan 3.2 liter turbo diesel.

The first 2 engines are in Arielle and the 2 nd one will be running by mid week. The top speed expected is 35 Knots. This will allow us to reach the sea mountains in good weather conditions in very short time at reasonable fuel cost.

The new engines are much smaller and lighter and have improved the boats stability immensly,by lowering the centre of gravity.
It also makes the cabin more spacious.

With the regular off season maintenance the boat will be ready by the end May.
I have driven it on one engine its absolutely great.

Our season 2009/10 showed more fish than ever before

Tight lines were needed on all the trips and the lucky strike was with Joseph Seel on the 7th Feb.
releasing a 1000 lbs Marlin after a 5 hour drill on Baloo.
Daily since December ,we caught Marlin, the most were 5 a day and the average was one to 2 per boat per day.The season went on into April and the catches showed an other high in the first 2 weeks of April with the Marlins still around and taking well.
I like to thank all my friends/Fishermen for their support and hope to see all of you in the next season .
The night fishing as usual was unpredictable,Edo had the best trip 3 Broadbill released 2 x 40Kg, 1x 60 Kg.They will never forget the release on board when the fish slipped the grip and gave them a real beating, sorry about that.
